Hi guys took my XRS for her 1st oil change (and switch to synthetic) few we eks ago I changed my low beam to silverstar, and I brought a set of coldblue (9006) for foglight. So when I drop off my car at the dealer I ask them to change my foglight. The guy say I might burn the casing, the wire, all the way to the computer, etc and it happen to someone before. And since it's not their parts and work it is not cover by warrenties. Is that true? I was like WTF and tell them to change the fog anyway since i use it only at night. But now I am worry for low beam. Any suggestion, did that happen to anyone?

SYLVANIA - coldblue (http://www.canadiantire.ca/assortments/product_detail.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=84552444327 7480&FOLDER%3C%3EbrowsePath=2534374303517494&FOLDER%3C%3EbrowsePath=2534374303517541&FOLDER%3C%3EbrowsePath=1408474396669585&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=1408474396669585&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=1408474396670271&bmUID=1141782203013 )

That's the bulb I have for fog (9005 shown in pic, what I got is 9006CB, Max 60 watts). I remember the manual said fog and low beam use the same bulb, and it's 55 watts, right?

If that's the case I should be safe? BTW, I drive home tonight (30 mins) and touch the fog casing. It's quite hot. Hope it's alright.....

Hi wkl_lau, i also bought some CoolBlue LowBeam and HighBeam bulbs for my corolla and so far had no problems. It was 9006 also.

In my opinion, they are telling bullshit to afraid you. The ECU are protected and no way in hell changing the bulbs in a car could toast the ECU.
