for boost?

go with a 4A-GZE, the 4A-GE black/silvertop are more adapted to N/A tuning

wrong

Silvertop are taking boost perfectly. Sure you'll have to port and polish it before putting more than 7-8 psi. Blacktop have too much compression (12) on cylinder. black top are really really meant to be n/a.

For a silvertop with everything ecu, harness, tranny, motor, power steering pump ect... it's about 1200 - 1300 US and for black top they're more likely to be 1600 US

4agze are a good option too.

get a gze man .... rip off the charger and get a 16G

best setup you could get for the price ...

you will pull out a decent 200Whp for less than 2500 if you install everything youself and make it tune ....

lots of help here i was told if i change the pistons in the silver top to gze pistons i can run some good boost. i am still looking into all the options but making to corolla faster is not an option its a necessity

the bleu top is the first generation of the 4A GE . ans the one you can play the most to get more power from the original setting .

gettin 250 hp .... its a nice goal

you can go for a 7A-GZE who is a custum engin made from a 1.8 bloc with a head of a 1.6l supercharge .
it is a big job to do , but if you have good knowledge on how to rebuit engin you can do it .
those a saw have 220 to 240 hp and a torque around 250 lbs

the beams is a 3sge .... so whats out ....

the 4age redtop .... is really an engine made to be built highcomp ....

so stay bluetop .....

and for the 7a.... if you dont have a 7a in good shape dont bother get one....

and eve if you have one for the hassle its not worth it ...

sorry i couldn't resist ;)

its possible buts its hard, but 250 HP is possible with a 4A, but for that, i would (if i were in your shoes) a 4A-GZE, then install a turbo on it. the GZE are made to functions with a supercharger, and you can easily change that for a turbo.

hard ... ??? no its not .....

its a bit expensive maybe ....but thats it .......

a gze with a gt28rs at 20psi could push a GREAT 250 Whp and probably more !!

N/a more than 190-210 streetable is impossible .... over 200 N/A you have to run at least 302 degree cams ....

and the maximum you can get is like 230-240 .... on methanol and 320 cams ... wiht 13:5.1 compression ration !!!

Just to throw my two cents in, i just bought a Blacktop 20v for $1000.00 and next year im going to be getting some gze pistons and run about 8 psi of boost. Ive been told this setup should run me about 200 to 210hp. In a little car you dont need too much to get you going!

4agze will run you a bit cheaper than a black top

refresh it a bit with new rings, bearings and valve seals and put a turbo on it,with a proper tuning you can exceed your horsepower goals.

black top or silvertop is in my book a no go for boost unless you have a lot of money to spend

they are high compression itb setups with a very stubborn electronics system

so unless you plan on rebuilding+full standalone and a lot of hours of tuning its a costly option

im trying to make up my mind i am a big fan of the toyota supra ... toyota is in my blood... the 1987.5 to 1991 sell for about 4 to 8 thousand and im thinking deeply about buying one since A is my dream car B come turbo and tagra top witch you cant get in a supra. C rear wheel drive = more fun the fwd(drift)

it all depends on your budget and your driving style...

personally the corolla suits me but if the supra is your dream, save your money and build it right and you will be happier...

i can say personally that having more than one project car always becomes a nightmare crying
